She’s far from the uptight, full-of-herself little girl she was a few years ago, but her love for winter has never changed.

Day Three: Anachronism

Choose a different time period and describe what your character would have been like in that time period:

This is kind of an odd one since Viola’s a time traveller, meaning she has been in those different time periods and experienced them. A favourite of hers was Victorian London; where she met Nate. I think if she’d actually been born then, and raised as a Victorian woman, she’d be a lot like herself, really. Probably not as brash or outspoken, but the same outwardly sunny demeanour, and an ability to talk to anyone and everyone she meets. 

There would be some differences, of course. The fact that Victorians were so much more conserved than people of our time would mean large chunks of her personality were different. For instance, Viola is very open and willing to talk about sexual matters, and as a Victorian lady, she would not. Plus, she gets along much better with males than females, and I don’t think members of the opposite sex were allowed to interact much if they weren’t married or family members.

Day Two: Clothing & Appearance

How do they usually dress?: Viola almost constantly wears jeans and t-shirts, more often than not with boots and a leather jacket. She’s not one for dresses or high-heeled shoes, mainly because she travels so much and is always on the run. She dresses practically, but since she likes to think she’s a little bit of a rocker, there’s usually a band t-shirt and a ton of assorted bracelets thrown in there too.

What do they wear to sleep?: An oversized t-shirt that she found in the back of her mother’s wardrobe and believes to be her father’s. 

Do they wear jewelry?: Usually she’s got a ton of bracelets sliding up and down her arms. She’s got pierced ears, but doesn’t like to wear earrings, and she finds necklaces constrictive.

Is there anything about their appearance they wish they could change?: Viola is happy with her appearance to the point of being conceited. She’d been told all her life how pretty she was and it definitely went to her head. She’s not usually openly vain, though.

How would they look as the opposite sex?: Probably similar. Blonde hair, green/blue eyes. Since Viola takes great pride in her appearance, I imagine male!Viola would be lean but muscled. A little bit metrosexual, maybe.

What do they smell like? Why (do they wear the scent or does it occur naturally)?: Viola’s favourite perfume is a light flowery scent her mother used to wear. She’s only got one bottle left and she can’t find it in shops anywhere, so she uses it sparingly.

Do they have an accurate mental picture of their appearance (how they see themselves versus how the world sees them)?: I’d say so. She knows she’s pretty.

Piercings: Her ears - lobes and cartilage. She had her belly button pierced but removed it soon after. Piercings aren’t practical when you spend most of your time on the run.

Birthmarks: A small red blotch on her hip.

Disfigurements: None.

Scars: She has several from general wear and tear. She’s pretty clumsy, and not very spatially aware - she can often make a gesture and end up tipping something over. Her worst scar is a burn about the size of a small child’s palm on her side. She wasn’t watching where she was going and smacked into a waitress carrying a pot of boiling coffee. It drenched her, and in her panic she ripped her t-shirt away from her side, taking most of her skin with it. Doctors managed to fade the worst of the scar, and Bio Oil helped soften the edges, but it’s still a visible mark which she detests.

Do they have any nicknames? Where did they come from?: Her sister used to call her Gummy Bear because they’ve always been her weakness. Apart from that she just gets called either Viola or Vi.
